Installation instructions:
1. You should have admin rights to install this software.
2. Run the installation file Mini5DaySetup.exe and agree to the terms, choosing the default folder is probably best unless you need a special installation folder.
3. After installing Mini 5 Day will run automatically, unless you unchecked the option.
4. You should be prompted for your Registration name and Key, enter that information if available, otherwise the program will not update automatically.
5. On the first run of the program will open your default web browser to the Weather.com weather site so you can find your city weather code.
6. A popup menu should also be visible with instructions on how to find your code and then prompts you to enter the code in the box. Below is a picture of where you will find the code on the Weather.com weather site.
7. The 8 digit code below is all you need to have for the program to display your city weather. Find the city search box on their page and search for your city, the box should be similar to the one below.
8. This is the city search on the Weather.com web page.
9. ![]()
10. After finding your city weather, the code is now visible inside the URL of your web browser address box below. Only letters and numbers make up the code and it is CaSe sensitive. The code from the URL in the image below would be USCA0406 for Fresno, CA..

Using Mini 5 Day Weather:
Besides
the main program window, the program also displays your current city,
temperature and weather conditions by moving your mouse over the
program tray icon.
Right-click
the mouse on the cloud tray icon to bring up the tray menu functions.
The tray menu options are pretty self explanatory and common for
most programs so I don’t feel I need to explain ever option.
Tray
Menu
The
most important option here is the Launch
at Windows Start,
this option allows you to quickly prevent or enable the program to
start when Windows starts. Checked is on, allowing Mini 5 Day
weather to start automatically when you load Windows. Simply uncheck
by selecting the menu option to disable.
Clicking the About
Menu
Option will display the program information, version, your
registration information and allow you to re-enter
your registration code
if
needed.
The Refresh
menu option will update the weather data, the display and adjust the
screen to any changes that might be needed. The program uses the
default windows settings to download data from the Internet. There
should be no need to adjust any settings. Some firewalls may need to
let the program access the Internet; otherwise the weather data will
never download.
Hide
Window
hides the program main window from view, when you right click the
tray icon and use the Show
Window
menu option to restore the main program window.
Let’s move on to the Main Window now.
Main
window showing the pop-up menu options
Right
click the mouse on the program main window anywhere and the pop-up
menu will display
with the programs various settings and options, see
above.
Use
the Adjust
City Code
menu option to change your current city code. Choosing the menu
option also displays a sub-menu allowing you to visit the Weather.com
weather site to find your favorite city code.
The
Adjust
Color
option brings up a sub-menu where you can change the colors of almost
every feature. Notice the Transparency
menu
option, this allows you to adjust the window transparency. Clicking
this option brings up the transparency bar, setting
the transparency to 255 disables the transparency feature.
The
Measurement
option
is where you can change from
USA measurements
to Celsius
measurements.
Mini
Size
The
Mini Size menu
option allows you adjust the programs main window size. Selecting
this option brings up another adjustment bar, maximum size is
500x500.
Main
Window
The
main window displays your current conditions.
Clicking
the right or left arrow icons allows you to scroll back and forth
through your city 5 day weather data.
With each click the display animates and moves to the next day of
data until you reach the end.
