What is My IP Alert v1.30

What is my IP Main Screen I've updated the MyIPAlert software today to v1.30.  If your currently running the previous version, you can use the automated upgrade from the software and your version will be updated automatically. Everyone else can visit the My IP page to find the latest full package release.

The Alert email functions have been completely re-written, they now support Google Gmail, to all of you that requested this, here ya go! The Alert email now supports CC and BCC recipients too.

The software now sports a simple new look, and there are other miscellaneous changes. If you wonder what is my IP address, just highlight the tray icon to see your current IP address hint and it will be displayed. There is also a new quick tray menu option to copy your IP address to the Windows clipboard for quick use.

As usual, MyIPAlert is Freeware and will stay that way.

This has now been updated to v1.31, a small problem not closing when Windows shut-down has been fixed.

  • dedi says:

Does not work on Win 2008 R2 64bit. It shows the IP, I can configure everything, but when TEST a popup appears with no Error Message.

While running v1.31 on XP, my requests to log off/shutdown/restart, etc. are simply ignored. If I exit MyIPAlert, log off/shutdown/restart begin to work as expected. Is this still a known issue currently being worked on?

  • Brad says:

It sounds like the software was or is locking up on you, what kind of Internet connection do you have?

  • Brad says:

Make sure the software can get through the Windows firewall, it's also possible your port is blocked for SMTP.

  • ab says:

Brad, are you talking to dedi? My software is not locking up at all. MyIPAlert/firewall is setup correctly and sends notifications when my IP address has changed as expected. Everything appears to be working except when I go to shutdown Windows, it is at that point that I realize that I am being ignored. If I click Star, select Shutdown, then click OK, the Shutdown window box goes away and nothing else happens. I can do this repeatedly. If I exit MyIPAlert, and attempt another Shutdown, Shutdown actually shuts down as expected.

  • Brad says:

This was a known problem with previous versions.

Are you using the latest version?

    While running v1.31 on XP...

Originally I had installed MyIPAlert1200.exe but could not get it to send email alerts. Uninstalled, then installed MyIPAlert1310.exe. At some point after installing MyIPAlert1xxx.exe my Windows Shutdown control stopped working while MyIPAlert is running.

I don't know if it existed in MyIPAlert1200.exe as I did not experiment with it very long.

I am currently running MyIPAlert1310.exe and the shutdown problem exists.

Try running the auto-update now and see if the new update to v1.32 fixes the shutdown problem some of you are having.
